Main Objective

To tackle inequalities and ensuring sustainability and availability of jobs to cab unemployment and building resilience through a risk-informed development.

Description

Many people remain poor or are thrown back into poverty because of conflicts, natural disasters, diseases, poor saving mechanism, corruption, or some other shocks which families and communities are just unable to cope with. We create long lasting solutions to cab poverty and empower people to create a future that is secure. People need decent jobs, greater access to information and knowledge, security against crime and physical violence, political and cultural freedoms, and opportunities to participate in community activities. Women need equality, minorities and respect, people need protection and the country demands peace.
Growth Networks is trying to develop a policy pathway, identifying the most appropriate sequence of interventions and investments, given its strategies and plans.

Social Protection policy
This policy guards against the major risks of life such as loss of income due to maternity, paternity, old age and related dependency, involuntary unemployment or part-time, precarious or irregular work, caring and family duties, illness and need for healthcare, disability, and the risk of falling into poverty. GRONET sets up schemes that are directly linked to working life, and financed through contributions frequently based on earnings. We help the those who are retired to demand universal coverage and full access to pensions, national social security fund (NSSF) and long term care around the country to ensure that the elderly people can live in dignity and a better living standard. Growth Networks ensures that minimum income schemes are established to protect people from poverty and deprivation, while supporting their active inclusion in society and the country at large.

IN order to overcome poverty Uganda needs to tackle inequalities, ensuring sustainability and availability of jobs to cab unemployment and building resilience through a risk-informed development.
